The Streets Of Lodi

The Streets of Lodi
Words & Music By: Donald Stephan Jones

Well, I’ve been walking the streets of Lodi
Where wine grapes, grow like diamonds on the vine
You can see the cherry trees blossom
And it’s so green in spring, it will blow your mind
Every Friday night on Main Street
The neighbors come to town, to have a little fun

Chores
Now I don’t want to live in San Francisco
And I don’t want to be in Palm Springs
It’s so good, to walk the streets of Lodi, again

It’s hotter than a chili pepper, in July
But the water of Lodi Lake, will cool you off
I can hear the freight train on, Sacramento Street
Blown her whistle, as she slows through town
And while I’m sipping beer, at the Lodi Brewery
Oh, I’m just tickled, I’m sitting right here

Chores
And I don’t want to live in New York City
And don’t want to be in the Hamptons
It’s so good, to walk the streets of Lodi, again

Instrumental

Chores
And I don’t want to live in San Francisco
And I don’t want to be in Palm Springs
It’s so good, to walk the streets of Lodi, again

Fade-out
Well, I’ve been walking the streets of Lodi
Where wine grapes grow, like diamonds on the vine
You can see the cherry trees blossom
And it’s so green in spring, it will blow your mind
Every Friday night, on Main Street
