Where Every Country Music Song, Tells A Story....

Donald Stephan Jones has been writing country music for many years, but he has only recently begun to get his country music heard by professional recording artists and performers. He has had country music songs considered by George Jones, Trace Adkins, Chuck Wicks, Little Big Town, Lady Antebellum, Lee Brice, Montgomery Gentry, Tim McGraw, Darius Rucker, Aaron Tippin, Garrett Steele, The Warren Brothers, Josh Gracin, Billy Reasons, and many other major country music artists. One of the great attractions to Don's country music songs are the stories. Each song is a story set to country music, and "stories are what make country music the greatest music in the world," says Mr. Jones.

This website is a place where professional singers, entertainers, directors, producers, and talent managers can come in search of new country music for recordings, shows, movies, plays, or other venues. All songs are copyrighted and available. Everybody who loves country music is invited to listen to Donald’s complete music catalog. When the great, George Jones, was considering one of Donald's country music songs, called “Home Movies On The Wall,” he came to this website and signed the guestbook giving Don the complement of a life time.

We thank you for stopping by and listening to the “Hick From The Hood,” Donald Stephan Jones.

"A Country Music Songwriter"

Dear Friends,

Every once in awhile a story unfolds which demonstrates the power of the mass-media in America to create demons of the “good” and saints of the “bad” with a simple tool called “editing.”  I was reminded of this fact by the recent story of Shirley Sherrod, a USDA official, who was forced to quit her job, when an edited-video was aired concerning a speech she gave to the NAACP which made her appear to be “racist.”  America’s moguls of mass-media went into a “frenzy” to publicize the story, never considering they did not have the whole story.  On the day the edited-video was made public, the White House and the NAACP condemned Ms. Sherrod and forced her to resign from the USDA, without confirmation of the facts.

For those of us seeing the edited-video on TV, it looked like Shirley Sherrod was a racist.  But, the very next day, Glenn Beck, a conservative commentator from the Fox News Network, located the complete unedited-video and played it on national television.  Much to the chagrin of those who wanted a "smoking-gun, black-racist" on video, and to the political ideologists who covet their political power and their own necks above the truth, the UNEDITED video revealed Shirley was no racist.  In fact, in spite of her father being murdered by the KKK and a cross burning on their family farm, when she was young, Shirley is anti-racist. The unedited video revealed the truth; she was using an allegorical lesson from her early career to show how she had overcome her feelings of racism.  Watching the full video should make all Americans proud of Shirley Sherrod, because she triumphed over being prejudiced by race.

Propaganda, introduced by the “right” or by the “left” equals the same thing, a lie.  Unfortunately “we the people” have become co-conspirators to propaganda because we are lazy and foolish with information.  We must not forget;  freedom is never given, it is earned.  Question everything, every time.

Thanks for Stopping by!
